Dia de Los Muertos Events in San Diego

Día de Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, is officially celebrated on Nov 1 and 2nd. This holiday and tradition originated in Mexico and pays tribute to loved-ones who have passed away. The holiday is celebrated with uniquely decorated "altars", elaborate costumes and face-painting, and time spent with family and friends.

San Diego's Old Town hosts a several events and Day of the Dead altars are displayed in numerous restaurants and various locations in this historic area of the city.
