Fire Destroys Building in Borrego Springs Amid Santa Ana Winds

The National Weather Service says there is an increased fire risk in San Diego County through Tuesday due to Santa Ana winds and low humidity levels. Wind gusts between 20-20 mph with some as high as 55 mph. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the county till 8 p.m. Tuesday. A High Wind Warning is in effect for much of Riverside County and a Red Flag Warning was issued for a portion of Los Angeles County.

Fire Destroys Structure in Borrego Springs

Firefighters were called out overnight to a commercial structure fire in Borrego Springs at the De Anza Country Club. When crews arrived about 75% of the building was involved with heavy fire. There has been no extension to other exposures or vegetation. As of Monday morning, there were over 60 firefighters at scene. Cal Fire says they continue to make good progress and have managed to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings or vegetation. No injuries reported.
