New Tailgate Park Plan Passes, Not Everyone Loves It

The San Diego city council voted 8-1 on the sale of tailgate park.

It's called a mixed-use development, and would be built on the city-owned lot between 12th and Imperial, and K and 14th streets. The plan he plan includes building 1,800 apartments, with 50,000 square feet of office and retail space and a public park.

The $1.5 billion deal includes the Padres, New York-based real estate company Tishman Speyer and Ascendant Capital Partners, from Los Angeles.
