Why Timing Is Everything When It Comes to Coronavirus

If timing is everything, then it’s a good way to describe what’s happening right now when it comes to when to start easing some of the restrictions that have been in place for more than six weeks.

With everyone getting antsy now after being cooped up inside and many having been furloughed from their jobs, it’s certainly understandable why there are those who are demanding that stay at home orders should end and the opening of businesses and stores should begin.

And that there are others who are pleading that public health orders remain place for now…in order to make sure it is safe enough to prevent a return to a rapid increase in coronavirus cases.

The current disagreement about when to start loosening up and opening up has been described as a debate between dollar signs and vital signs.

There are those, including the President, who say businesses may never be able to open again and some laid off workers may never get their jobs back if things don’t start getting back to at least somewhat normal now.

But there are others who say that as hard as it is and as damaged as the economy is, it could get even worse if the rate of coronavirus cases start growing again and overwhelming hospitals.

While there may be a disagreement with both sides having valid points about what could and should happen, one thing is for sure.

We shouldn’t be fighting with each other. Not now.Now is the time for everyone to work together for our common good. Because right now, timing is indeed everything.
