County Health Officials Issue Reminder About Easter Gatherings

San Diego County health officials on Friday reported that the number of COVID-19 deaths had increased to 44.

Four more deaths were reported and the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the county went up by 65 bringing the total for the county so tar to 1,693.

Supervisor Nathan Fletcher said Friday that while there are signs the rate of cases have showed a slowing spread of the virus, everyone needs to continue to follow the public health orders to stay at home and socially distance yourself from others and follow the recommendation to wear a mask or face covering when going out in public where other people are around.

Fletcher also reminded residents that when celebrating Easter this weekend, in person gatherings at churches are not allowed. He also said that with an order in effect that bans gatherings of any size, you should gather only with the people in your household.
