Macy's and Nordstrom Temporarily Closing Stores Due to Coronavirus

Two of the major department store chains in San Diego County are temporarily closing their doors because of the coronavirus.

The nationwide closing of stores by Macy’s and Nordstrom begins Wednesday and they will remain closed until at least the end of the month. The companies say their online operations will continue as usual.

Macy’s has eight department stores in San Diego County along with its home store in Mission Valley, the Bloomingdales store at Fashion Valley, the Bloomingdale's Outlet at Westfield Mission Valley and all three of its make up and skin-care stores.

The Nordstrom closing includes their stores at UTC, North County and Fashion Valley — along with its five Nordstrom Rack locations in the county
