What Gift Not to Forget at Christmas

With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, sometimes you can forget to say thank you to the people who help you each year.

And that’s why it’s time today to say thank you to our KOGO listeners.

Our listeners donated toys and cash to our East County Toy Drive for the Salvation Army greater than ever before.Thousands of toys were collected and this week are being distributed to needy families in our county who will have a merrier Christmas this year.

And then there were all the many listeners to KOGO who donated double the amount of money during our annual Iheartradio Rady Children’s Hospital Give a thon this month..which will help save lives and help to heal thousands of kids this coming year.

And sometimes the giving we witness can be very personal.

Having never expected to be walking into Rady Children’s Hospital cancer center in September of 2006, my wife and I were doing just that after our first grandchild, who was less than one year old, had been diagnosed with a neuroblastoma, a cancerous tumor in his little belly.

But a few days later, the amazing doctors at this amazing hospital had removed the tumor and now 13 years later, he is a young teen and we have been thankful every day since.

All of us have things to be thankful for. So during the always busy Christmas season, this year, be sure to say thanks to someone and give them the gift of gratitude.
