The biggest summer party on the West Coast is off and running. It all starts on Opening Day, Wednesday, July 17, 2019 – the one can’t-miss event in San Diego. Rock your best look and be there when racing, fashion, entertainment, fame and fortune collide at the legendary seaside track. Enter the Opening Day Hats Contest. Wear your most outrageous hat and compete for more than $5,000 in prizes in one of five categories: Best Racing Theme, Most Glamorous, Most Outrageous, Best Fascinator, and Best Flowers. Show off your creation before 3 p.m. in the Plaza de Mexico on Opening Day. Only one category per contestant. No fee to participate. All entrants will receive two free admission passes to return to the races. Presented by Fairmont Grand Del Mar.
