San Diego County Comes To The Aid To Rescue A Horse

San Diego County Newscenter:

San Diego County agencies came to the rescue of a horse from a muddy ravine in Descanso.

A woman was riding her horse along the Harvey Moor Trail Monday, when the they slid down the slope.

The woman wasn't hurt, but the horse was stuck on its back in the mud.

The Sheriff’s Department, CALFIRE/San Diego Fire Authority, County Animal Services and an equine veterinarian were all called in to help rescue the horse.

The various agencies and the owner worked together to fashion a series of ropes and several hours after the fall, they managed to right the horse. The animal then walked out of the ravine on its own.
