Congressman Duncan Hunter Faces Judge In Federal Court

Congressman Duncan Hunter and his wife, Margaret, were in Federal Court in San Diego today before the judge who will be hearing the case.

Hunter's attorney, Gregory Vega, told U.S. District Judge Thomas Whelan it will be a few weeks before he's able to determine which motions to file before the trial.

He asked for another status conference September 24th, and the judge denied a request that Hunter be allowed to skip that hearing.

The Hunter's are facing a 60 count indictment on charges they spent more than 250 thousand dollars in campaign funds on personal expenses and then filed false campaign finance reports.

President Trump blames Attorney General Jeff Sessions for letting the charges against Hunter and Congressman Chris Collins to move forward so close to the midterms.

No trial date for the Hunters has been set.
