Have Clutter to Clear? San Diego Residents Can Dump Stuff During Free Event

San Diego residents can take advantage of an event Saturday to get a jump on "spring cleaning" during the city's free Annual Community Cleanup at SDCCU Stadium.

Residents are encouraged to clear their homes of old appliances, furniture and other bulky items and drop off items to be trashed between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.

If you have old bulbs and household batteries residents can also take advantage of the event to dispose of them.

Goodwill Industries of San Diego County will also be on hand to collect items that can be donated.

“This is a great opportunity for San Diegans to properly dispose of large unwanted items they don’t know what to do with and do their part to keep our neighborhoods clean and safe", Mayor Kevin Faulconer said during a news conference detailing the community event.

If you can't make it to Saturday's event, the city has scheduled a number of neighborhood curbside clean ups during which larger items can be left out for pickup.
