Arrests in Death of Escondido Woman Hit by Stray Bullet

Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a woman last week in Escondido who was hit by a stray bullet while she was driving home from church. 

Arrested today were a 24-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy. Neither of the suspects have been identified.

Catherine Kennedy was struck by gunfire in the 1800 block of Grand avenue about 9pm on March 7th.

The 55-year-old woman was hit by a bullet fired while driving through a confrontation between suspected gang members of graffiti according to police. 

The 24-year-old man will be arraigned Friday. The 16-year-old is expected to be arraigned on Monday. Both are facing charges of murder. 

Funeral services for Kennedy are scheduled for tomorrow.
